YWAM Through and Through May 2009

Chris and Lynn had an amazing opportunity to visit the big island of Hawaii in March this year as part of Youth With A Mission's President's Gathering at the invitation of Loren Cunningham, YWAM's founder. YWAM's University of the Nations (U of N) is based in Kona and is the site of at least one of the twice yearly gatherings of the base directors from the top 40 YWAM training bases in the world. Loren assembles this team to pray, learn about and discuss various themes in the YWAM world and throughout the Body of Christ.

Participating in this event with YWAM leaders from around the world has deepened and strengthened our faith as well as our vision for YWAM Destination Paradise. We are blessed to be part of this team and already look forward to the next President's Gathering!

While in Kona we were also asked to extend our time there by a few days in order to participate in another gathering, this one to explore and discuss the use of boats and ships in Youth With A Mission. Since we had spent 8 years with Mercy Ships (originally a YWAM Ministry) and now use sailing vessels in ministry, the fit was just right. The discussions were Spirit filled and enthusiasm was high. One highlight for us was when YWAM's president, John Dawson, put his hands on our heads and called us trusted elders in the mission. The acceptance and place we feel in YWAM is phenomenal. We are blessed to be part of such a fruitful and Godly ministry.

Cameron is Coming May 2009

Three months is a long time! At least from a parents' perspective when they are about to send their oldest to work at a Christian Camp 4000 miles from home! Cameron is very excited about coming back to the Pacific NW to serve in the C.I.T program at the Firs in Bellingham, Washington. He departs from Belize on his 17th birthday (June 6) and will not be back to Belize till late August. Back to the parents' perspective for a moment; we are very proud of Cam, very excited for him and this opportunity and look forward to the growth that will take place this summer! Please keep Cameron in your prayers!

YWAM DP Community May 2009

We are extremely excited about what God is doing in and through YWAM Destination Paradise and in our family. We continue in our search for land/property in San Pedro Belize where we'll begin the new YWAM DP Community! A number of amazing long term staff have just joined us or are coming soon. The base will serve as a place to live, serve and grow together. The YWAM DP Caribbean Community will also host the new DIVERS DTS program which will begin in August.
